Maoist KAMS in-charge Madivi Mangli surrendered to Kothagudem police on Thursday.
Kothagudem: CPI (Maoist) party’s Krantikari Adivasi Mahila Sangham (KAMS) South Bastar divisional committee in-charge Madivi Mangli surrendered before the Kothagudem police on Thursday.
She is the wife of former DKSZC member Karatam Rajesh and hails from Mettugudam village under Palmed police station limits in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh State. She joined Maoist party’s Chaitanya Natya Mandali (CNM) in 2003 at the behest of Palmed LOS commander Sukku.
The party arranged her marriage with Rajesh when he was Gollapally LOC commander in 2007. When Rajesh was paralysed in 2018 the party sent her to Meenagatta to take care of him. In 2022 Mangli was given responsibilities of KAMS and she was asked to look after Palagudam, Gommuguda, Ittaguda, Meenagatta, Jaleruguda RPCs along with DKSZC member Kukati Vankatayu alias Vikas. Mangli took part in a couple of attacks that Maoists carried out against the security forces. She decided to surrender to police as the support to Maoist party in the tribal areas declining and the party was confined to Chhattisgarh because of its outdated ideologies, Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju informed.
