Hyderabad: TRS Malkajgiri parliamentary constituency incharge Marri Rajashekhar Reddy submitted Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS)’s report on issues faced by Kummari and Vaddera community and recommendations to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

Telangana Planning Commission vice chairman B. Vinod Kumar accompanied him. Rajashekhar Reddy has sponsored the CESS study to examine the socio-economic status of the Kummari and Vaddera communities in the State and challenges encountered by them.

The study covered six representative districts and 10 mandals, 10 villages and urban wards were identified on the basis of availability of the community households.

Based on the study, a few recommendations, including amendment of rules to enable the Vaddera community to access locally available resources, provision of new technologies in the form of earth-moving equipment, vehicles and tools through appropriate subsidy-based schemes, social security pensions and others, were made for welfare of the communities.
