Sangareddy: A fire broke out at a firecracker godown on the outskirts of Andole-Jogipet town, reducing the entire storage facility to ashes. Fortunately, the godown was located away from human habitation, preventing any casualties.
As the flames spread rapidly, firecrackers inside the godown ignited, sending sparks and explosions in all directions. By the time fire engines reached the site, the entire structure was consumed by fire.
The godown reportedly sourced its stock from Sivakasi and supplied firecrackers across the erstwhile Medak district. However, officials noted that the management had not followed proper fire safety norms, which is believed to have contributed to the accident.
The exact loss has not yet been ascertained, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. A case has been registered in connection with the incident.
