Medak Collector Prathima Singh receives tourism award for promoting district

Medak Collector Prathima Singh received the Paryataka Prathiba Award for efforts to improve tourist facilities and promote destinations in the district. She said 14 tourism spots would be developed as a circuit to attract visitors and generate employment.

Medak: Medak Collector Prathima Singh was honoured for her efforts in improving the facilities at tourist places in the district and getting them popularised with a host of efforts. The tourism department presented “Paryataka Prathiba Award” to the Collector on Saturday during a programme organised at Shilparamam in Hyderabad.

She received the award from the hands of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. Speaking after participating in world tourism day rally taken out in Medak on Sunday, Pratima Singh said that they have identified 14 tourism spots in Medak district which would be developed into a tourism circuit so that the tourists from Hyderabad and other parts of the nation would visit the district.

The tourist spots include Medak Church, Medak fort, Narsapur forest, Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary, Kulcharam Jain Mandir, Sri Vana Durga Bhavani Temple Edupayala and others. She said that the tourism development will not only create employment to locals directly and indirectly and it would also generate revenue to the government.

Medak MP M Raghunandan Rao, ASP Vikram Kumar Singh and other officials congratulated the Collector for getting the state level award. Pratima Singh held multiple meetings with officials of all the departments to improve facilities at Medak fort, Pocharam Wildlife Sanctuary and many other places.

She also vowed to grant Rs 10 crore for restoration and conservation of Medak fort. She also inaugurated a ticket counter to sell the entry passes to the visitors at the historical fort before launching the rally on Sunday.
