Rajanna-Sircilla: About 50 farmers from Medak district took out a padayatra to Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada, seeking divine intervention to change the attitude of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the new farm laws,

The young farmers from Yellapur of Papannapeta mandal started the padayatra from their native village on February 28 and reached the temple town on Tuesday night, covering a distance of 110 km. They passed through Sangameshwar, Domakonda mandal of Kamareddy district and Lingannapet of Bambhiraopet mandal. After having darshan of Rajarajeshwara Swamay on Wednesday morning , they returned to their native village.

Speaking on the occasion, Pabbathi Prabhakar Reddy, a farmer and Yellapur village sarpanch, said that they took out the padayatra for divine intervention to change the Prime Minister’s stance on the farm laws. Demanding that the Union government repeal the anti-farmers laws, he urged the Centre to provide Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops produced by farmers.

Commenting on Chief Minister K Chandrashekahar Rao’s decision not to establish paddy procurement centres, he urged the Chief Minister to rethink on the decision and continue with the procurement process by establishing PPC centres.
