Medipally cab driver arrested for alleged sexual assault of minor
A 16-year-old girl allegedly sexually assaulted by a cab driver reported the incident after attending a 'Good Touch-Bad Touch' awareness programme at her school. Medipally police arrested the accused and remanded him in judicial custody. The investigation is continuing
Hyderabad: A 16-year-old girl disclosed that she was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 36-year-old cab driver after attending a ‘Good Touch-Bad Touch’ awareness programme at her school.
The incident occurred in Medipally on the city’s outskirts.
According to the information available, the suspect, Niranjan, a resident of Peerzadiguda and a cab driver, was known to the minor girl, who is studying in Class X. He allegedly sexually assaulted her on August 2 when she was alone at home.
The incident came to light on Wednesday after the student attended an awareness session on ‘Good Touch-Bad Touch’ at her school. Following the programme, she broke down in tears and informed She Teams personnel about the alleged assault.
Based on her complaint, the Medipally police registered a case, arrested Niranjan, and remanded him in judicial custody.
The case is under investigation.
