Karimnagar: Collector Pamela Satpathy said that mental growth of children was possible with Anganwadi centers where children were taught pre-primary education in a play way method. The collector participated in grama sabha organised as part of Shukravaram sabha and poshana masotavams held in Peddapapaiahpalli of Huzurabad mandal on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, she said that a quality education is being taught to children in anganwadi centers on par with private educational institutions. Peddapapaiahpalli center was a role model for better education.

Advising pregnant women to undergo medical tests free of cost in government hospitals, she informed that expensive tests such as scanning and others were available in the hospital. If the percentage of maternal death were examined, the pregnant women, who had not undergone tests according to schedule, were dying during the time of deliveries. Health workers, ANMs, and anganwadi staff would have complete knowledge about the health condition of pregnant women. So, it would be better for ladies to give birth to babies under their supervision in government hospitals.

Informing that various medical examinations are being conducted to women under Arogya Mahila programme on Tuesday and Thursday, she said that ladies must undergo tests for every three months.
