Mercury levels continue to plummet to record low in Adilabad
Temperatures in Adilabad district continued to plummet, with Lingapur, Tiryani, and Kohir among the coldest areas in Telangana. Officials have urged residents to take precautions, avoid venturing outdoors, and wear warm clothing to cope with the freezing conditions.
Adilabad: Mercury levels of erstwhile Adilabad district continued to plummet to a record low level for the second day on Friday.
Lingapur mandal centre saw a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius, which was the second lowest minimum temperature in Telangana followed by Kohir of Medak which had 7.8 degrees C. Bazarhathnoor mandal witnessed 9.3 degrees. Lingapur registered the minimum temperature of 8.6 degrees C, while Ginnedhari village in Tiryani mandal recorded the lowest temperature in Telangana by seeing 8.2 degrees C on Thursday.
Pembi mandal centre experienced the minimum temperature of 10.8 degrees C. Lingapur village of Dandepalli mandal shivered at 12 degrees C. Officials asked the public to be cautious of freezing cold conditions. They advised the people not to venture outdoors, to keep bodies warm and to wear sweaters to cope with the numbing cold weather.
