There was a mid-air collision between a small aircraft and a Washington DC Police Helicopter near Reagan airport.
Hyderabad: A small aircraft has crashed near Washington DC’s Ronald Reagan National Airport, according to local officials.
According to media reports, there was a mid-air collision between an American Airlines flight CRJ (AA5342) coming from Wichita and a Washington DC Police helicopter while landing at Ronald Regan International Airport.
Reports say both are down in the Potomac River and search and rescue boats have been deployed to the area.
Takeoffs and landings have been halted at the airport as emergency personnel respond to the incident, the airport wrote in a post on X. Emergency personnel are responding to the incident on the airfield. Meanwhile, the terminal remains open.
It is not yet clear what caused the crash.
