Nalgonda: A migrant labourer committed suicide after killing his wife at Madugulapally in Nalgonda district on Sunday night.

Jadiya Jagan (30), hailing from Odisha, committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree in sweet lime farm at Madgulapally after killing his wife Swathi (25).

According to other labourers residing in the shed beside the victim’s house in the farm, Jagan and Swathi picked up an argument late on Sunday evening and went to the farm. Jagan alone returned to his house at 7.30 pm. When questioned about his wife, he told them he had finished her.

When Swathi didn’t return till Monday morning and Jagan was also not available, they searched for them at the farm. They found Swathi’s body lying on the ground and Jagan hanging from a tree a few metres away. The couple was working in the mosambi farm for the last nine months.

Madgulapally police filed a case and took up investigation.
