Hyderabad: Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy has once again stirred unease within Congress ranks, this time by openly acknowledging that several farmers were yet to receive benefits under the Rythu Bharosa scheme this season.
Speaking to the media, Rajgopal Reddy admitted that while the State government intended to extend assistance to all farmers, the rollout was delayed due to financial constraints. His remarks come just days after he criticised the implementation of the Indiramma Housing scheme.
A video of the MLA’s comments is now circulating on social media, in which he declared that he would continue to call out mistakes in governance and within the party, irrespective of rank or designation.
“Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had made a comment, I immediately responded on X. A mistake is the same for all, even if it is Rajgopal Reddy or the Chief Minister. We are going to have good days,” he said.
His comments have sparked fresh friction within the Telangana Congress. This follows his earlier remarks taking a dig at the Chief Minister’s assertion that he would remain in office for a decade.
While a section of the party rallied behind the Chief Minister’s statement, others objected to Rajgopal Reddy’s public criticism. TPCC Disciplinary Committee Chairman Mallu Ravi issued a cautionary note to party leaders, urging them to exercise restraint while making statements about the Chief Minister’s tenure.
