MLA Balakishan reappointed as Telangana Samskrutika Sarathi chairman
MLA Rasamayi Balakishan called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here and thanked the latter for his re-appointment to the post
Hyderabad: Manakondur MLA Rasamayi Balakishan has been appointed as the chairman of Telangana Samskrutika Sarathi for the second consecutive term. He will serve for a tenure of three years, and the government issued orders on Tuesday.
Balakishan called on Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan here and thanked the latter for his re-appointment to the post. The Chief Minister congratulated the legislator and handed over to him the appointment letter.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandrashekhar Rao said the role of cultural artistes in the statehood movement was unforgettable. After the State formation, the Telangana government had decided to safeguard those who had worked hard during the movement and ensured them employment. He said certain appointments in Telangana Samskrutika Sarathi had also been completed as per the court orders recently.
The Chief Minister said the cultural artistes are playing a crucial role in creating awareness among people about the welfare and developmental programmes being implemented by the State government. He asked Balakishan to take up novel programmes such that the State’s initiatives reach people living even in remote areas.
Ministers T Harish Rao, S Niranjan Reddy, V Srinivas Goud, Gangula Kamalakar, MLA A Jeevan Reddy and Telangana State Planning Board vice-chairman B Vinod Kumar were present.
