Jangaon: Station Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari, who was said to be indecisive until now whether to file an affidavit without quitting the seat or resign before the Speaker’s decision, said on Monday that he would not resign.
It might be noted that he recently said that if there was a by-election, he would be the Congress candidate and win the election. At a party meeting at Station Ghanpur, he told the party cadres and those contesting in gram panchayat polls not to worry about his by-election and that he was not going to resign.
He asked the cadres not to pay attention to the rumours being spread on social media about his resignation following the notices served to him by the Speaker over his defection to Congress after getting elected on a BRS ticket. He reiterated that his future course of action would depend on the decision of the Speaker.
Srihari made an offer to Congress party cadres that he would give Rs 10 lakh if the sarpanch candidate was unanimously supported and Rs 25 lakh would be given if the candidate was elected unanimously from his MLA funds for the development of the village.
