Kumram Bheem-Asifabad: Sirpur (T) MLA Koneru Konappa sponsored the marriage of 24 financially poor and tribal couples to express his gratitude for electing him thrice, in Kaghaznagar on Friday.

The couples, mostly tribals including a differently-abled groom, hailing from different parts of Sirpur (T) Assembly constituency, ceremoniously entered into wedlock amidst Vedic hymns and in the presence of their family members at a mass wedding ceremony held on the premises of Annadana Satram, a daily poor feeding centre operated by Konappa, in the town.

Konappa and his wife Rama Devi graced the occasion and personally monitored the proceedings of the weddings. They gifted crockery, new clothing and an almirah to the newly wedded pairs, fan, and household appliances, besides sponsoring mangal-sutra and toe-rings and offering a sumptuous lunch to family members of both the bride and groom. They congratulated the pairs and then dined along with the couples following the wedding.
