Congress candidate for MLC graduates constituency V Narender Reddy filing nomination along with Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu and Jupalli Krishna Rao in Karimnagar on Monday.
Karimnagar: Filing of nominations for the Medak-Adilabad-Nizamabad-Karimnagar MLC Graduates and Teachers constituencies was completed here on Monday.
A total of 100 candidates filed their papers for the graduates constituency while 17 filed for the teachers segment. Scrutiny of nominations will be held on Tuesday and last date for withdrawal of nominations on February 13. While the election is scheduled on February 27, counting will be held on March 3.
Owner of Alphores educational institutions, V Narender Reddy is contesting for the graduates constituency on behalf of the Congress party. Narender Reddy on Monday filed nomination along with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy, Sridhar Babu, Ponnam Prabhakar, Jupalli Krishna Rao and MLC T Jeevan Reddy.
Earlier, he took out a huge rally in the town. BJP candidates Anji Reddy and Malka Komuraiah are fighting for graduates and teachers segments respectively.
Owner of Winners’ publications, Prasanna Harikrishna filed a nomination for the graduates segment as an independent candidate. Harikrishna had tried for a Congress ticket but in vain. BRS leader and former Mayor S Ravinder Singh filed nomination as an independent candidate.
Yadagiri Shekhar Rao, who also tried for a BRS ticket, filed his nomination as an independent.A senior journalist from Nizamabad, Pulagam Devidas also filed his nomination for the graduates’ constituency as an independent candidate.
