Hyderabad: TPCC president A Revanth Reddy on Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of ignoring the welfare of Backward Classes in the country.

“After Modi, who himself is a BC, became the Prime Minister, he forgot to uplift them on all fronts,” he said, addressing ‘BCs’ Jung Siren’ organised by BC Welfare Association of Telugu speaking States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.

He said the State government was also rendering injustice to backward communities, and that the Congress would fight in Parliament in support of BCs. He demanded the Central government to take up a caste-based census of BCs across the country.
