At a review meeting held at Jala Soudha office here on Tuesday, the Minister said the State government had allocated Rs 410 crore for the Manair River Front Development project. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had also expressed his readiness to sanction more funds. While the construction of the cable bridge which is part of the project has been completed, tenders have been already invited for development of the 2.6 km stretch of the total 10 km project. The construction of a retaining wall as well as construction work between upper prominad and lower prominad, were also discussed in detail during the meeting.

As part of the project, the government is planning to introduce boating, amusement parks, water sports, fountains, children’s parks, kids play areas, auditoriums, museum, senior citizens gardens, flower and rock gardens, laser shows, landscaping and also a sports enclave with tennis and volleyballs courts. Walking and jogging tracks will be developed along the entire project stretch.
