More people continue to fall ill in Telangana’s Kamareddy adulterated toddy incident

Kamareddy: More people continue to fall ill in the adulterated toddy consumption incident in the district.

On Monday, nearly 30 people had fallen ill in Ankole, Durki and Damarancha villages after consuming adulterated toddy while on Tuesday, another 25 people, including women, were hospitalised.

While a majority of them were being treated at government hospital in Banswada, nearly 12 persons were shifted to the Government General Hospital, Nizamabad for better treatment.

Most of the people who fell ill were from Durki village, according to reports.

The Excise department officials have seized the toddy depot and collected samples from the depot.

People have been complaining about rampant adulterated toddy sale in many mandals in the district and demanded that stern action should be initiated against those involved in such incidents, the reports said.
