Hyderabad: The Mailardevpally police on Saturday arrested a motorist for rash and negligent driving that resulted in the death of a woman pedestrian at Katedan last month. He was booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The arrested person is S.Surendra (22) from Lakshimiguda in Mailardervpally and a native of Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh.
On November 12 night, Surendra, who did not possess a valid driving licence, drove his bike in a rash and negligent manner and hit the pedestrian Laxmi (42) a resident of Shivrampally. She died on the spot.
The Mailardevpally police booked case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder and arrested. He was produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
Officials said Surendra drove the vehicle in dangerous manner knowing clearly that it was dangerous and could cause fatal accidents. This amounts to culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
