Controversy is brewing over the registration of a case of culpable homicide against an RTC driver who parked his bus on a National Highway. A jeep hit the parked bus and one person died. Police registered a culpable homicide case against the driver, leading to unrest among RTC drivers.
There was a marginal increase in cases of culpable homicide, kidnapping, rape and incidents of hurt during the year, said incharge commissioner of police Sindhu Sharma, adding that 42 cases of murder, 77 cases of rape and 57 cases of kidnapping were reported in the commissionerate during the year
The petitioner, who is the mother of deceased sought an impartial investigation and complained that the case of culpable homicide was falsely portrayed as a suicide.
The family members claimed that they had repeatedly met with the principal, urging him to take decisive action against the seniors responsible for assaulting their son.
