Movie Artistes Association election gets interesting than ever

Senior character artiste Hema too has announced that she would contest for the MAA president election. Already in the fray for the president post are actors Prakash Raj and Manchu Vishnu.

Hyderabad: The election for president of Movie Artistes Association (MAA) in the Telugu film industry is getting interesting than ever with more contestants entering the fray.

Senior character artiste Hema too has announced that she would contest for the MAA president election.

Hema has been a member of the MAA steering committee and held the post of MAA vice president earlier. “I have held various positions in MAA. Before making the announcement for candidature, I thought I should contest for the post of treasurer. However, my supporters and well-wishers urged me to contest for the MAA presidential post,” she said.

Already in the fray for the president post are actors Prakash Raj and Manchu Vishnu. While there is a section of the film industry weighing their support behind Prakash Raj already, actor Manchu Vishnu has decided to contest the elections taking suggestion from his father and also sought support from various other celebrities in the film industry.

Since there is a couple months left for the election, some more actors may announce to contest the elections in the coming days. It is also learnt that former actor Jeevitha Rajasekhar too may announce her candidature.
