Multiple food safety violations by Pizza outlets in GHMC area and districts
Food Safety teams inspected 55 pizza outlets in Telangana, including Pizza Hut and Dominos, flagging violations ranging from expired licenses and poor hygiene to unsafe food storage. Unsafe items were seized on the spot.

Hyderabad: The food safety teams of the Commissioner of Food Safety, who conducted a statewide inspection drive covering a total of 55 pizza outlets in GHMC areas and districts, have reported multiple violations on the part of the eateries. Of the 55 that were inspected, 18 were Pizza Hut outlets, 16 Dominos outlets and 21 others included local pizzerias and bakeries.
Lapses noticed at Pizza Hut outlets:
The lapses reported by the inspecting teams in 18 Pizza Hut outlets, which are managed by M/s Devyani International Ltd and Sapphire Foods India, located in GHMC area include multiple outlets with license/jurisdiction mismatch, veg and non-veg stored together, calibration not done.
In Hanamkonda (Kazipet), violations noticed include unclean machinery/ equipment while in Warangal, the medical certificates were issued without proper examination. At Nizamabad, license was not displayed, freezer temperature was not maintained and cleaning log was not kept. At Nalgonda, license was not displayed, dustbins were without lid, sauce bottles were without “use by” date.
Lapses at Dominos outlets:
The lapses noticed by inspecting teams at Dominos outlets, which are managed by Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd, in the GHMC area include several outlets that did not display license.
At Nizamabad, the inspecting teams reported expired license, pest control overdue, gloves/masks not used, calibration records missing, expired license displayed and no medical records.
At Hanumakonda (Subedari), the machinery was not cleaned, no records, pest control not updated, no medical records for new staff were observed.
In Warangal, gloves/masks not worn by the staff, medical certificates issued without examination
At Mahabubnagar, there was no segregation of veg/non-veg, medical records absent, handlers not wearing gloves.
Other establishments:
Pizza Paradise and Master V Bakers in Hyderabad did not display license, no medical certificates, overused oil, unlabelled paneer/ bread/potato chips, rusty ovens, open cooking area without insect-proof mesh.
Pizza Korner in Medak had uncovered vegetables on the workstation, overused oil was seized and discarded, no pest control or medical records.
At La Pinoz Pizza in Kokapet/Narsingi), the teams observed non-compliance with prescribed machinery cleaning schedules. The inspecting teams discarded unsafe food materials on the spot.
“Samples were lifted and instructions issued to Food Business Operators (FBOs) to immediately rectify violations,” the Commissioner of Food Safety posted on X on Tuesday.
