Mulugu: District Collector S Krishna Aditya inaugurated a special photo exhibition and stalls set up by the Tourism Department led by Tourism Officer M Shivajai at Medaram here on Wednesday.
The exhibition set up on the premises of the Sammakka-Sarakka tribal museum is aimed at providing information about the idiosyncratic Sammakka-Sarakka jatara, its legend, history and expansion into one of the major tribal congregations in Asia, and also historic and tourist places like UNSECO heritage site Ramappa, Laknavaram Lake, Dameravai Megalithic burials and others places.
“This exhibition would educate and enlighten the visitors of Medaram about the tourist places. If the Tourism Department organises a three-day trip to the district, it would be beneficial for the tourists,” Collector said. A brochure on the tourist places has also been unveiled at the programme. Tourism staff Dr Vamshimohan Palle and others were present at the programme.
Later, the Collector inaugurated the media centre set up for the convenience of the media representatives visiting Medaram to cover the jatara. He also assured that they had taken all possible measures for the convenience of the media men, and also directed the Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations Department B Lakshman to monitor the facilities and services at the media centre. After inspecting the centre, he has appreciated the I & PR staff for making good efforts.
Bhupalpally DPRO B Ravi Kumar, Warangal DPRO Bandi Pallavi, ARE P Bhupal, Mulugu DPRO B Premalatha, AVSK Ramchandraraju, APRO Mohammed Rafeeq and other staff were present.
Meanwhile, a Legal Aid Centre was also inaugurated on the premises of the Tribal museum by DLSA, Warangal, secretary GV Maheshnath in the presence of Collector Krishna Aditya and other officials.
