NAAC ‘A’ grade for JITS Karimnagar

Karimnagar: The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has awarded ‘A’ grade to the Jyothismathi Institute of Technology and Science (JITS) in Karimnagar town.

Disclosing this to newsmen here on Thursday, JITS principal Dr Gattamaneni Laxminarayana Rao, College Academic Advisor Dr PK Vaishali, HoD (artificial intelligence and machine learning department) Dr Jyothi Prabha, Training and Placement Officer Vishwa Prakash Babu, said that the college was assessed by a strong peer team on March 26 and 27 and awarded ‘A’ grade after taking into account number of factors for assessment.

The JITS, the first engineering college of integrated Karimnagar district established in the year 1997, was the first engineering college to be awarded with NAAC ‘A’ grade in the district.

The NAAC team led by Prof Omkar Singh, department of mechanical, Harcourt Butler Technical University, Uttar Pradesh, had verified the infrastructural facilities and quality of teaching and academic activities through interaction with teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents, alumni, management etc.

Stating that the NAAC ‘A’ grade to the JITS had boosted morale of the students and teaching community, the JITS teachers said that the NAAC accreditation would help the student community with the arrival of several multinational companies for taking up campus placement drives and offering good packages. Besides, the accreditation would help funding for the research which would help the student community also, they stated. JITS faculty Lakshmi Rajashekhar, Jagadeeshan, Manikandan, Karthik, Rajesh Guna, K Prasanna Latha, Neelima, K Radhika Reddy, G Sindhusha, Ashok, Sridhar and others were also present in the press meet.
