Hyderabad: The Commissionerate of Collegiate Education (CCE) has shortlisted 30 Government Degree Colleges in the State that will commence the process for National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) assessment and get graded in coming months.
“Keeping in view the requirement of NAAC accreditation and possibility of getting funds under various schemes, especially the RUSA 2.0 programme of the Central government, it is necessary that more Government Degree Colleges must undergo the assessment and get graded,” Commissioner of Collegiate Education Navin Mittal said on Tuesday.
He addressed the principals, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) coordinators and academic coordinators of 30 government degree colleges from 19 districts during the one-day workshop on ‘Quality enhancement practices in Government Degree Colleges in Telangana State’ organised by the IQAC, Osmania University and CCE.
“Quality of education and research in higher educational institutions need to be constantly monitored and should be institutionalised,” OU Vice Chancellor Prof. D. Ravinder opined.
Sessions on general understanding of NAAC and its importance to higher education institutes were also delivered by Prof R Nageswar Rao, Director, IQAC, OU and Prof B Raja Shekar, Director, IQAC, University of Hyderabad.
