NABARD opens cluster office in Karimnagar

Konduru Ravinder Rao, Chairman, National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB), has formally inaugurated the NABARD cluster office and also planted a sapling on the premises.

Karimnagar: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has opened a cluster office with a district development manager, manager and supporting staff to cater to the needs of integrated Karimnagar district comprising of Karimnagar, Jagtial, Peddapalli and Rajanna-Sircilla districts.

Earlier, the NABARD office was only one-man show with only a DDM. As part of its expansion programme and reach to the ground level, it opened the cluster office near Collectorate in Karimnagar town on Monday. Konduru Ravinder Rao, Chairman, National Federation of State Cooperative Banks (NAFSCOB), has formally inaugurated the NABARD cluster office and also planted a sapling on the premises.


Speaking on the occasion, Ravinder Rao thanked NABARD chairman Chintala Govindarajulu for strengthening its branches in the districts by opening cluster offices with additional staff to reach more sections of the rural people and strive for their economic empowerment programmes. The opening of cluster office in Karimnagar town would ensure additional benefits to the rural people in general and the farming community in particular with more economic activities and rural development programmes, he stated.

He said that the NABARD would expand its activities such as watershed programmes, formation of farmer producer companies, farmers clubs, women empowerment and micro-entrepreneur development programmes and training programmes for the women and the farming community on various issues.

NABARD DDM P Ananth said that the opening up of cluster office would ensure more business, development aspects in the agriculture and allied sectors. They would strive for more livelihood creation programmes for the rural people, he stated. District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) CEO N Satyanarayana, Lead district manager K Laxman, NABARD cluster manager Manohar Reddy, representatives of NGOs and others were also present.
