NABARD takes up construction of drying yards in Sircilla district
Each drying yard, measuring over 3,000 square feet, would be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.26 lakhs each including Rs 60,000 contributions from the farmers of the respective watershed villages.

Rajanna-Sircilla: The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has taken up construction of drying yards for farmers under the watershed project in Gajasingavaram, Dammannapet and Mustabad villages of Rajanna-Sircilla district.
Each drying yard, measuring over 3,000 square feet, would be constructed at a cost of Rs 3.26 lakhs each including Rs 60,000 contributions from the farmers of the respective watershed villages. The Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) is the implementing agency of the watersheds in all three villages.
TSCAB chairman Konduru Ravinder Rao performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the construction of drying yards in Gajasingavaram and Dammannapet villages in Gambhiraopeta mandal on Monday. He said that the drying yards would be immensely useful to the farmers to dry and clean their crop before selling them in the marketyards.

NABARD DDM P Ananth said that the three watershed projects were progressing at a steady pace for income generation and agricultural activities. He said that they had constructed farm ponds and recharged the borewells in these three villages.
Besides, they were also encouraging fish rearing by distributing fish seedlings to the farmers, he said, adding that they were also initiating the formation of Farmers Producer Organisations (FPO) in watershed villages.
On this occasion, Ravinder Rao handed over keys of a JCB vehicle to a beneficiary, who availed a loan from the DCCB in Gajasingavaram village.
Later, the NABARD DDM, general manager Manohar Reddy, DCCB general manager B Sridhar, Gambhiraopet branch manager Nagaraju, Dammannapet watershed committee chairman Ramesh, MPTC member Ambar Nayak, Gajasingavaram watershed committee chairman Ramreddy, sarpanch S Balaraju and others inspected the watershed projects in all three villages.
