Nagarkurnool food poisoning: Principal, warden and six staff suspended after 26 students fall ill
Authorities suspended the principal, warden, ANM nurse and four kitchen staff members after 26 students fell ill due to suspected food poisoning at a tribal residential school in Mannanur. A detailed inquiry has been ordered, and stricter food quality monitoring has been introduced.
Nagarkurnool: Taking serious note of the food poisoning incident at Primitive Tribal Group Residential School, Mannanur that occurred last week, officials suspended Principal, warden ANM Nurse and four kitchen staff for their negligence.
About 26 students had fallen sick after consuming kichdi in breakfast at the school. Students also complained about contaminated drinking water being supplied in the school. They were soon admitted in hospital and offered treatment. Officials claimed all the students have recovered and have been discharged from the hospital.
However, taking serious note of the food poisoning incident at the school, senior authorities suspended Principal, Warden, and ANM nurse suspended and four kitchen staff members from duty.
Officials stated that any negligence regarding students’ health would not be tolerated. Orders have also been issued for a comprehensive inquiry into the incident. Staff has been warned that strict action would be taken against those responsible if such incidents recur.
Special monitoring mechanism has been established for checking the food quality in residential schools, the officials added. EOM
