With the age of digitisation, everyone is truly hooked with their electronics and devices, be it for work, entertainment, news, education, fitness or just a basic necessity. And with the constant market competition, customers compete for the best functioning of their devices, especially in the battery life. No one these days would prefer to tag along a charger or any charging device in case of sudden battery drainage. How if one can use a device for endless hours without any constant charging? But does it sound realistic?

According to a new report, a new battery technology by Nano Diamond Battery is under works making use of nuclear waste materials to generate electrons which would run for years without any re-charging. As per the report, the product is yet to be developed as of till date. The product is to be made using their own proof of concept with backing of proper funds.

As reported, reliable improvement was found in the efficiency of charging from diamond which is made using recycled carbon graphite from nuclear waste. Eventually, the carbon made up is radioactive and generates enough power to survive for a longer period. However, the verified report has not been found to establish the theory.

The battery is said to be self-charging and would last approximately for 28, 000 years. Having been made up of Carbon-14 nuclear waste which requires cautious procedure, the diamond is safe for later use with little to no environmental impact.

To yield higher and efficient energy output, the battery is designed using Diamond Nuclear Voltaic (DNV) technology. It uses a supercapacitor for higher output in addition to the charged diamond. The nuclear radiation is then encased into another diamond layer made from non-radioactive, created Carbon-12 to contain it.

As per the report mentioned in the Medium, the nuclear material is actually moderated using the charge of the electrons present in it, which is generated as the carbon is deteriorated according to time. Based on the theory, the diamond will emit enough charge unless it is stretched to its fullest which might take ages, hence turning it into a green energy for usage.

Apart from the claims of the report, no proper evidence has been found to be attached with to support the reality of the product. Though if brought into actual market for the consumers, it may result in a positive way looking forward the electronics market, be it for mobility or for a greater and safer use.
