Warangal: Narsampet MLA Peddi Sudharshan Reddy said on Thursday that at least 400 poor people in the constituency were getting financial assistance under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) every month. The scheme is a boon for the poor who suffer from diseases that are not covered under Aarogyasri, he said.
The MLA was speaking after distributing CMRF cheques worth of Rs 37.85 lakh to 105 poor patients at his camp office in Narsampet town in the district.
He said people suffering from various ailments not covered under Arogyasri scheme can get assistance under the CMRF and Letter of Credit (LOC). “If they white ration card or food security card holders, they are eligible to apply for CMRF,” he said, adding that original bills for medical expenses should be handed over at the MLA’s office along with the patient’s Aadhar card, ration card, bank pass book copy and photo immediately upon after the treatment to avail CMRF.
“Patients get the financial assistance within five to six months of submitting the bills,”Sudharshan Reddy said, adding that people who can’t afford treatment due to financial difficulties can also avail Letter of Credit (LOC) if they get an estimate from the hospital.
