Mancherial: A blood donation camp was held to mark National Voluntary Blood Donation Day-2021 on the premises of district headquarters hospital here on Friday. The event was organised jointly by the Medical and Health department, Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and Lions Club of International’s Mancherial chapter.
IRCS Mancherial district chairman K Bhaskar Reddy said that 20 persons voluntarily donated their blood during the camp. He said that donation of blood would save lives of victims of road accidents, medical emergencies and patients of blood disorders thalassemia, sickle cell, etc. He along with members of the society felicitated donors with a shawl and certificate of appreciation.
IRCS vice-chairman Chanduri Mahender, treasurer Padala Ravinder, members V Madhusudan Reddy, K Satyapal Reddy, doctors of the society’s blood bank Dr Chandrakala and staffers of the bank were present.
