Collector Anudeep Durishetty launched Covid vaccination for teenagers in Kothagudem on Monday

Kothagudem: Covid vaccination for teenagers has been launched in the district on Monday.

At a programme held at Ramavam Primary Health Centre here, the District Collector Anudeep Durishetty launched the vaccination programme for those aged 15 to 18 years. Speaking on the occasion, he asked the parents to ensure that their children were vaccinated against the Covid-19.

Durishetty said Covid vaccine was safe and one could receive a vaccine shot without any fear. Awareness has to be created among the people in gram panchayats and municipalities. Similarly students at welfare hostels, schools and colleges should be educated about its importance.

Vaccination was the only defence against the Covid virus and it was happy that the vaccine was made available for teenagers also. There were around 60, 000 teenagers in the district. Steps should be taken to achieve 100 percent vaccination coverage, the Collector said.

The vaccination was going on at all PHCs in 23 mandals in the district. Enough stocks of the vaccine were made available and all arrangements were in place for administering the vaccine, he added.

Later at a programme at the collectorate, Durishetty directed the revenue officials to speed up the process of distribution of pattas related SCCL lands regularisation. He told officials to take steps to arrange a programme for the distribution of pattas next week.

The land owners whose applications were rejected have to be informed through a written notice and the details have to be recorded in the register, he added.
