Cyberabad EOW officials arrested a Nellore-based couple for allegedly cheating investors of Rs 2.1 crore through a fake real estate company. The duo also took money from job aspirants by promising backdoor employment. A case was registered following a complaint

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad EOW officials arrested a couple on charges of cheating investors to the tune of Rs 2.1 crore by promising good returns on their investments. They also cheated job aspirants.

The arrested duo was identified as P Ujwala and Mahesh P, natives of Nellore of Andhra Pradesh, and former residents of KPHB.

Police said the couple induced investors in the guise of investment in real estate through their company, Christ Properties (OPC) Pvt.Ltd, of which Mahesh was the director and Ujwala the nominee.

They approached retired employees and induced them to invest in their company, promising a 2 per cent return on investment.

They also collected money from job aspirants by promising them backdoor jobs.

Based on a complaint, the EOW officials booked a case and arrested the couple.
