The year 2020 hit us hard; like a train whose brakes had failed and was running on very slippery tracks! Wham! The Pandemic of the modern century! An unseen, unheard enemy, microscopic in size, air-borne, ruthlessly slamming down anyone in its path- adults and children alike.
It brought the massive heaving of this proud, technologically advanced planet to a grinding, sandpapering halt! People, rich and poor alike were forced indoors. Masks, sanitisers, frequent hand-washing became the new norm of the day.
As the world struggled to come to terms with this Lilliputian adversary that caused a Brobdingnagian obliteration of almost half the human race, people everywhere slowly began adapting themselves to the new normal.
In the light of this, and on the occasion of International #Never Give Up Day, which was celebrated on August 18, the students of Gitanjali Devshala’s grades I, II and III, designed and created a video to help raise awareness on the dos and don’ts for keeping oneself safe during this pandemic.
Because this was a social cause, parents also chipped in and featured in the video that has now taken YouTube by storm! Artistically woven together clip by clip, the videocast a spotlight on how you can keep yourself and your loved ones safe.
The basic rules of social d i s t a n c i n g , washing one’s hands properly, wearing a mask and sanitizing one’s hands were ingeniously showcased. A few parents took to the craft table and designed homemade double masks.
An organic and easy way of making your hand sanitizer was explained to us in an unostentatious way and children handed out masks and sanitizers to one and all. Gitanjali Devshala’s children, teachers and parents have once again unitedly showed us all that ‘No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play.
