NHRC seeks report over BJP leader Madhukar’s suicide

Mancherial: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to Mancherial Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) A Bhaskar, seeking an Action Taken Report (ATR) within four weeks on the suicide of BJP Vemanapalli mandal president Eta Madhukar.
The Commission took cognisance of a petition filed by Sabavath Kalyan, a law student from Delhi University and a resident of Ranga Reddy district.
Acting on the complaint, the NHRC directed that a copy of it be forwarded to the DCP for necessary action and asked police authorities to submit the ATR to the Commission within four weeks of receiving the notice.
According to the directive, the incident has triggered public outrage, with demands for justice, accountability, and an impartial inquiry. The Commission observed that the matter raises serious concerns over possible human rights violations and political intimidation.
