After introducing the ‘Sunday-Funday’ programme on Tank Bund, a state-of-the-art Night Bazaar along Hussain Sagar is on cards.
Following the instructions of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has been planning to take up the development since last year. However, it could not go ahead with the plan due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
During a short discussion on Pattana Pragathi on Friday, the Minister announced that the Night Bazaar would soon be a reality with the government already making arrangements accordingly.
Authorities have called for tenders too to set up a bazaar on an area of about a 1,300-metre stretch along the lake at an estimated cost of Rs 18 crore. All these activities are being planned without compromising on the preservation and conservation aspects of the Hussain Sagar water quality and Full Tank Level.
As part of the project, officials are planning a wood plastic composite (WPC) deck along the shoreline to enhance the ambience at the lake and make tourists and the locals enjoy the picturesque view of the water body.
