Hyderabad: Nursing staff from Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), have continued their daily one-hour protest, demanding that the hospital’s management addresses their issues.
On Wednesday, the members of the NIMS Nursing Union demanded that the hospital management hold discussions with them to address their grievances, related to the well being of nurses, which have not been addressed by the hospital management.
“Today is the third of our peaceful protests. In the past year or so, we have made multiple appeals to the hospital management to address our long-pending issues of the nursing officers. However, our requests have failed to elicit an appropriate response from the administration,” they said.
As part of protests, the NIMS nursing officers wore black badges on Wednesday and participated in a mass protest for an hour.
Some of the major grievances related to nursing officers is resumption of medical services at NIMS for parents of contract nursing officers, filling vacant posts of nursing officers, EL (Earned Leave) encashment, cadre review, providing appropriate status to NIMS Nursing College lecturers and giving them salaries as per AIIMS norms etc.
“On behalf of the Nursing Union, we urge the administration to immediately come forward to resolve these issues. Our peaceful and legal protest will continue until a solution is achieved,” they added.
