NIMS to host zonal microsurgery course for neurosurgeons this weekend

Hyderabad: The Department of Neurosurgery at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) is collaborating with Board of Education, Neurological Society of India to Zonal Hands-on Microsurgery and Microvascular Course, designed to enhance the microsurgical skills of neurosurgeons from across India, between Saturday and Sunday, at NIMS Hospital Auditorium.
The comprehensive training course, coordinated by Dr. Y. Thirumal, Additional Professor of Neurosurgery at NIMS, focuses on advancing techniques in intracranial vascular anastomosis, a highly specialized skill crucial for performing brain bypass surgeries. These techniques are essential for treating complex neurovascular conditions such as moyamoya disease, intricate aneurysms, and tumors, as well as for managing stroke cases, including in pediatric patients across India. Through this training, neurosurgeons from various regions will have the unique opportunity to master these life-saving skills under the guidance of eminent faculty.
Under the leadership of Dr. Suchanda Bhattacharjee, Head, Neurosurgery, NIMS, the event will feature a distinguished panel of guest faculty, including experts in microsurgical techniques, who will provide participants with invaluable insights and practical skills.
