Women who underwent deliveries in Vemulawada government regional hospital.
Rajanna-Sircilla: Doctors at the Vemulawada Government Regional Hospital have set a record of sorts by performing 19 operations within 24 hours. These included 11 deliveries and eight other operations. Out of the 11 deliveries, five were normal deliveries while six were C-Section surgeries.
Two women underwent surgery to have their uterus removed, while cataract operations were done on three persons. Four others underwent general surgeries.
Hospital Superintendent Dr Penchalaiah, in a statement, appreciated the doctors and staff involved in operations. Informing that all types of specialist services were available in the Vemulawada hospital, he advised the people of the district to utilize the facility. Besides all types of blood tests, X-ray, scanning and ECG tests were also being done in the radiology department. Three doctors were available in the pediatric department. Three professors from the medical college were extending their services in the gynecology department. Two doctors were doing general surgeries round the clock, he informed.
