Niranjan Reddy demands immediate release of pending Rythu Bharosa dues
Former Minister S Niranjan Reddy accused the Congress government of not fulfilling the poll promise of providing Rs 15,000 per acre annually under Rythu Bharosa scheme. He criticised the Congress government over unpaid due of Rs. 30,000 crore.
Hyderabad: Former Minister S NiranjanReddy demanded that the Congress government release all pending RythuBharosa payments and extend the benefit to every eligible farmer. He said nearly Rs 30,000 crore in dues remained unpaid.
NiranjanReddy accused the government of failing to honour its poll promise of providing Rs 15,000 per acre annually under Rythu Bharosa, besides support for tenant farmers and agricultural labourers. He alleged that the promised assistance had been reduced to Rs 12,000 per acre and that payments had been delayed or skipped on multiple occasions since the Congress assumed office.
He criticised the Congress government for frequently changing the disbursement process. He stated that the government limited the latest RythuBharosa payments to farmers owning up to two acres despite promising universal coverage.
The former Minister questioned the government over crop procurement and the reported shortage of urea. He said public meetings organised around the release of RythuBharosa funds were aimed at diverting attention from the Congress government’s failures in the agriculture sector.
