No information on Maoist leader Ganapathi’s surrender: Telangana DGP Shivadhar Reddy
Telangana DGP B. Shivadhar Reddy said there is no information on Maoist leader Ganapathi’s reported surrender and clarified there is no urban naxal presence in the State, while highlighting ongoing road safety awareness initiatives under the Arrive-Alive programme.

Peddapalli: Director General of Police, B Shivadhar Reddy informed that he does not have any information about the surrender of Maoist top leader Muppala Laxmana Rao alias Ganapathi.
Ganapathi has to tell when he is going to give up arms and join the mainstream, DGP said when asked about the surrender of Ganapathi.
DGP made these comments while interacting with media persons after inaugurating Armed Reserve police quarters in Godavarikhani on Sunday.
Commenting on urban naxalites issue, the police chief made it clear that there was no presence of urban naxalites in Telangana.
Informing that a special focus has been paid to check road accidents in the state, he said that road safety awareness program ‘Arrive-Alive’ is being conducted successfully across the state as part of praja palana programme.
Besides public representatives, officials and employees of various government departments right from village level have been involved in the Arrive-Alive programme.
In order to reduce deaths by controlling road accidents, people have been prepared to follow road safety norms.
Police housing corporation MD Mahesh Bhagavath, Warangal Range IG Chandrashekhar Reddy, Commissioner of Police Ambar Kishore Jha (Ramagundam) and Gaush Alam (Karimnagar) and others participated in the programme.
