Rajanna-Sircilla: A former powerloom worker, Nakka Srinivas (41), who was reportedly steeped in debts, died by suicide in Sircilla on Saturday morning.
A resident of BY nagar, Srinivas allegedly hanged himself in the house around 5.30 am. He was found dead when other family members woke up in the morning. Srinivas, who had borrowed money, is suspected to have took the extreme step as he was unable to clear the debts. He was survived by his wife and two daughters.
According to a note released by the Handlooms and Textiles department, Srinivas, who worked as a powerloom worker up to 2020, had stayed away from the weaving profession after he fractured his right hand.
He later worked as an autorickshaw driver, a SIM card salesman, in a wine shop and also in a petrol bunk but still struggled to stay afloat. In the recent past, he was not doing any work as his hand was completely paralysed, the note said.
