Not all suicides of police personnel is due to work pressure, says Telangana DGP Dr Jitender

Dr. Jitender said there was an internal mechanism where officers keep track of persons having such issues. “We do advise them to go to professional counsellors. We do have counsellors to help the policemen,” he said

Hyderabad: Telangana DGP Dr Jitender said not all suicides among the police personnel in Telangana could be attributed to work pressure in the department.

“Definitely there will be several issues due to which people commit suicides. It could be family, financial emotional issues and there might be some pressure also. We cannot generalize it, there may be work pressure in some case,” he said while speaking to presspersons here on Sunday.


Dr. Jitender said there was an internal mechanism where officers keep track of persons having such issues. “We do advise them to go to professional counsellors. We do have counsellors to help the policemen,” he said.
