Novel protest: Former corporator collects garbage in Ramagundam
Nagunuri Sumalatha, a former corporator of Ramagundam’s 25th division, staged an innovative protest against the municipal corporation's failure to collect garbage in her area. She personally collected trash from every household and dumped it on the town's outskirts.

Peddapalli: Former corporator staged an innovative protest by collecting garbage in the Municipal Corporation of Ramagundam on Friday, in protest against the municipal authorities’ negligence in collecting garbage from her division.
Nagunuri Sumalatha, who earlier worked as a corporator in the 25th division, collected garbage by visiting each and every house in the division.
Arranging two dustbins on either side of her bike, she visited houses and collected garbage. Later, she dumped it on the outskirts.
Speaking on the occasion, Sumalatha said that municipal staff were not collecting garbage from the division despite her complaint to authorities.
Stating that corporation officials were giving priority to the ruling party leaders, she said that collection of garbage in 25th division had not been done. Every day, she would register a protest in a different way, the ex-corporator informed.
