Kothagudem: Impressed by the ongoing livelihood initiative of JD Foundation in the district, an NRI has come forward to support the foundation’s activities.
Amit Varma, the Chief Information Officer of DBS Bank Limited of Singapore, donated Rs 25,000 for the cause. He along with Seshadri Vangala, the CEO and Director of Ifintalent Global Private Limited, visited the temple town of Bhadrachalam on Tuesday.
They had an interaction with the foundation’s erstwhile Khammam convener K Murali Mohan Kumar and came to know about the foundation’s activities related to the fight against the use of plastic bags, livelihood support to the poor.
They also spoke with foundation chairman VV Lakshminarayana (also called JD Lakshminarayana) over the phone and expressed their readiness to support the work being done by the foundation in rural areas.
Speaking to Telangana Today on Wednesday, Kumar said Varma and Vangala sought a detailed report about JD Foundation’s activities so that they could come up with a plan to lend their hand.
Sri Sita Ramachandra Swamy Temple’s deputy main priest Koti Ram Swaroop Acharya was present. Kumar presented an environment-friendly jute bag to the NRI.
