Kothagudem: Paloncha-based Nava Bharat Ventures Limited (NVBL) donated Rs 40 lakh to Oxygen Generation Unit located at ITC Limited, Sarapaka in the district.
The NVBL unit head and Vice President Y Srinivasa Murthy handed over a cheque for Rs 40 lakh along with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to District Collector D Anudeep in the presence of ITC Chief Manager D Chengal Rao here on Thursday.
The money was allotted as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Nava Bharat following a request made by the District Collector. The funds would be utilised to procure oxygen compressors for the Oxygen Generation Unit and make it operational, said a statement from Nava Bharat.
It may be noted that there was an acute shortage of oxygen supply to the patients suffering from Covid in the month of April and May this year. The State government alerted district authorities to take necessary steps to improve the medical oxygen supply.
Anudeep appreciated both the companies for their efforts to meet the demand for oxygen supply and congratulated Nava Bharat management for coming forward unconditionally and funding the noble task for the benefit of the public.
