Officials promise support to home guard Gopal after Harish Rao’s visit

Sangareddy: Former Minister T Harish Rao‘s visit to home guard Gopal, who was undergoing treatment after he sustained a serious head injury during a demolition exercise in Sangareddy, has evoked an immediate response from the police and district administration.

After Harish Rao raised his voice against the official apathy towards Gopal on Tuesday, Collector Valluru Kranthi and Superintendent of Police Chennuri Rupesh visited Gopal at AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The officials also met hospital chairman Doctor K Nageshwar Reddy to enquire about the progress of his recovery. Comforting the family members of Gopal, Kranthi assured that the government would bear all the expenses of his treatment besides getting his pending salaries released with immediate effect. She said doctors had told them that Gopal may be discharged within a couple of days. The Collector said that the government would arrange physiotherapy and speech therapy treatment at his home post his discharge.
