One electrocuted, seven injured during Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti celebrations in Telangana’s Siddipet

Some youths were preparing to hoist a flag when the flagpole came in contact with live overhead wires

Siddipet: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti celebrations turned tragic on Wednesday as one person was electrocuted and seven others sustained injuries while they were installing a flagpole at Jabbapur village in Wargal mandal.

The youth in the village were preparing to hoist the flag on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti. When one of them tried to install the flagpole, it came in touch with live overhead wires. One of the youngsters, Linga Prasanth (22), died on the spot.

The condition of two of the injured persons is said to be critical. They were rushed to the Area hospital in Gajwel for treatment.

A case was registered.
