Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna stated that an attempt to enter in the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records would be made by planting 3.5 lakh in an hour during the massive plantation drive
Mancherial: Adilabad MLA Jogu Ramanna said that 10 lakh saplings would be planted by his supporters, followers and activists of TRS to mark his birthday on Sunday. He stated that an attempt to enter in the Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records would be made by planting 3.5 lakh in an hour during the massive plantation drive. He was addressing the mediapersons here on Saturday.
Ramanna said that he decided to celebrate his birthday in a low-key affair and requested his followers and supporters to plant saplings on the occasion, instead of putting up flex posters and cutting cakes. “I feel the saplings as birthday gifts. From now onwards, celebrations mean planting saplings. We must ensure a safe and better environment for future generations,” he stated.
The legislator urged the followers to reach a barren forest land where 3.5 lakh saplings would be planted near the Mavala forest range, in a bid to set a world record. Over 6.5 lakh saplings would be planted in different parts of the district under the Telangana ku Harita Haram programme. Rajya Sabha member J Santosh Kumar was invited to grace the event as chief guest, he added.
