One person killed, five injured in road accident at Hajipur chowrasta on Srisailam Highway

A 28-year-old resident of Hyderabad died on the spot and five other natives of Karnataka sustained severe injuries when three cars were involved in a head-on collision on the Srisailam Highway at Hajipur chowrasta under Achampet mandal in the district

Nagarkurnool: A 28-year-old resident of Hyderabad died on the spot and five other natives of Karnataka sustained severe injuries when three cars were involved in a head-on collision on the Srisailam Highway at Hajipur chowrasta under Achampet mandal in the district on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Bilal. The five others, including Vishnukanth, Vijayalaxmi, Vasavi, Manju and Jagadish, who suffered injuries, were shifted to Achampet area hospital.

According to reports, 12 persons of a family from Karnataka were returning to Gulbarga in two cars after darshan at Srisailam. At Hajipur chowrasta, a speeding car from Hyderabad heading towards Rangapur jathara hit the two cars from Karnataka.

Bilal, who suffered head injuries, died on the spot and the five others, who were injured, were shifted to the hospital in a 108 ambulance, according to reports.

Meanwhile, about 60 passengers travelling in a TSRTC bus had a narrow escape when the bus which they travelling in lost control on the Umamaheswara Swamy temple ghat road in Achampet mandal limits on Saturday.

The incident occurred when the bus was heading towards Achampet from the Umamaheswara Swamy temple. While travelling down the hillock, the bus suddenly lost control and slipped towards the gorge side. However, the bus driver managed to regain control and stopped the bus. All the passengers heaved a sigh of relief.
